PE and Sport Premium
We endeavour to support and promote excellence through PE whilst advocating healthy lifestyles and the opportunity for all children to engage in regular competitive sport and physical activity, therefore developing competency in a broad range of PE.
What is the PE Sports Premium?
The Government is currently providing additional support by the way of the PE and Sport Premium to each primary school every academic year. This is to provide substantial and PE and sport funding. The premium enables schools to establish the foundations for a sustainable strategy for a lasting physical activity legacy, by improving PE provision in school and introducing health focused physical activity.
The PE and Sports Premium is jointly funded by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and is to be used in schools on increasing and improving physical education and sport for all pupils. Further guidance on how the premium should and should not be spent, as well as key indicators on its proposed impact on PE and school sport, can be found below.
