School Uniform
School uniform is compulsory at Holden Clough Primary School. We believe that uniform brings the whole school together, removing the barriers and making all pupils equal. Pupils are recognised by their uniform, therefore is important that they were it correctly so they look smart for school.
School uniform:
- Black trousers, shirt or pinafore dress
- Jade-green polo shirt
- Black shoes
- Black or grey socks or tights
- Charcoal-grey cardigan or jumper (knitwear only, sweatshirts are NOT allowed)
In summer, green-check dresses may be worn.
PE Kit:
- White round neck t-shirt (no branded sportswear please)
- Black shorts or leggings
- Trainers or plimsolls
- Pair of socks are required, if child wears tights to school
From Year 3, children will need trainers and black jumpers /tracksuits for outdoor winter games.
The school logo is optional. We have removed the compulsory logo items (in line with Government guidance) to allow parents a greater range of options for sourcing clothing.
Please ensure your child’s name is on ALL their items of clothing and belongings.
Children lose items of clothing on regular basis. We expect Holden Clough children to look after their belongings in all classes. If a child goes home in another child’s clothing by accident, for example, their jumper, Parents/Carers should send the clothing not belonging to them back into school to their child’s class teacher. You can help us by ensuring that you label all items of clothing with labels that can be sewn in. You may choose to write on labels with a biro, but this does wash out within weeks.
Any lost clothing is to be taken to the lost property box. All lost property is retained for a term and is disposed of if it is not collected within this time.
Each year we have opportunities throughout the year for donated and second-hand uniform to be shared with parents (we will advise you of this in school newsletters). If Parents/Carers want to be more sustainable and get some perfectly good, second-hand uniform items, please contact the office.
